Global Credit Trading & Syndicate - High Yield Desk Analyst - Associate or Vice President

As a Desk Analyst in the EMEA Leveraged Finance Trading business, you will work closely with traders to generate revenues on secondary trades, manage desk inventory, and evaluate new issues. The EMEA Leveraged Finance Trading business is part of the Corporate and Investment Bank’s Global Credit Trading platform. The business trades high yield bonds, credit default swaps, and leveraged loans, both performing and distressed.

Job Responsibilities:

Review a wide variety of credits to produce analysis and commentary to identify profitable trading opportunities for both clients and desk positions. Work with traders to set prices for trading levels for credits. Partner with the sales team to source and pitch trading opportunities. Prepare ad hoc support materials and presentations for the group and clients. Network with counterparts and colleagues in the market, including peer analysts at funds, legal, and financial advisors.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Previous experience in credit research, investment banking, or debt/restructuring advisory. Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively with sales and trading colleagues. Valuation and credit analysis training. Financial modeling skills. Comfortable with client interaction and strong presentation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Experience in reviewing debt documentation and understanding legal frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Experience in high yield bonds and credit default swaps. Strong networking skills with market counterparts and colleagues.

This role encompasses the performance of UK regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting UK regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the UK Financial Conduct Authority and/or the Prudential Regulation Authority to carry out such activities.
