Job Family Definition:

Responsible for managing commodities/categories worldwide, including goods and services that support the company and its customers. Includes setting category strategies; supply base development to meet the company and customer requirements; and supplier contracting and negotiations; supplier qualification; and establishing quality processes / resolving quality issues. Emphasis is on strategy, supplier development, negotiations, business relationships, quality, cost, assurance of supply and predictability. Develops the company procurement strategies, policies and tactics required to achieve objectives. Primary objective is to reduce the cost of supply and meet demand requirements, business and quality specifications, and revenue goals. Adds value to the company through managing performance aspects of major contracts and subcontracts.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

Leads a complex individual supply chain sub-category; including data and industry analysis; reports results to senior managers.Develops and utilizes supply chain, business, and financial modeling tools.Leads Supplier Selection Activities.Negotiates and completes contracts with complex suppliers.Partners with suppliers in minor strategic development.Provides input on risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operation strategies.Supports end-to-end sourcing and NPI materials escalationEnsures contract compliance with suppliersIdentifies challenging contract risk areas.Negotiates acceptable contracting outcomes using known solutions.Advises senior level business leaders on contract risk areas.

Education and Experience Required:

First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.Typically 6-10+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain function with strong thermal knowledgeExperienced in drafting contract solutions in known contract risk areas to obtain acceptable outcomes with limited supervision.

Strategic SourcingDevelop and execute global sourcing strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders (Engineering, PM, Quality, Operations)Align commodity plans with company financial, sustainability, and innovation goals.Commercial & Contract NegotiationLead complex negotiations and manage commercial agreements (SOW, LTA, purchasing contracts).Deliver cost transparency, savings initiatives, and favorable terms to mitigate risks.Global Supply Base & Geo-DiversificationExecute geo-diversification and dual-sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity.Drive supplier capacity expansion, BCP (Business Continuity Plan), and risk mitigation across regions.New Product Introduction (NPI) EnablementAccelerate product time-to-market by partnering with R&D and cross-functional teams.Ensure design-for-supply-chain readiness, parts availability, and contract alignment for launch.End-to-End Supply Chain & Supplier ManagementManage the full lifecycle: RFQ execution, cost modeling, value analysis (VAVE), and supplier performance reviews (QBR).Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to enhance innovation, quality, and long-term competitiveness.Leadership & InfluenceProvide thought leadership within procurement, influencing executive stakeholders and supplier executives.Mentor junior commodity managers, driving best practices and continuous improvement.Data-Driven Decision MakingLeverage advanced cost modeling, market intelligence, and analytics to support decisions.Monitor industry trends (materials, tariffs, geopolitical risks) to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.OthersExcellent understanding of global procurement processes, industry, and complex suppliers.Excellent analytical skills.Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and supply chain modeling skills.Excellent communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.Strong Project Management Skills.Excellent team leadership and influencing skills.Mastery in English and local language.Ability to create a contract from standard company or customized contract templates with limited supervision.Applies cause and effect thinking to identify challenging contact risk areas.Strong understanding of contracting principles.
