Global Category Manager. D&IT

 

Position purpose:

 

This position exists to support management of the Global Digital & Information Technology Category. This role has the following main dimensions:
- Propose Global category strategies/guidelines and coordinate strategic sourcing activities 
- Ensure business connectivity for set sub-category(-ies) and scope
- Coordinate and animate a functional network of Local Category Managers D&IT & Cluster Leads
- Manage Global suppliers,develop Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) recommending key suppliers per sub category
- Ensure Global alignment and compliance with strategies, driving measurable behavioral KPI's
- If appropriate, manage procurement operations when required for their respective sub-category(-ies) /key stakeholders 
- Role model in compliance and ethics
 

What will you do – responsibilities:

 

1. Procurement Strategy:
Proposes Global category strategies/guidelines and coordinate Strategic Sourcing activities. Ensures effective Supplier Relationship management and sustainability of supply. Supports the design and implementation of the appropriate strategies worldwide, works in close collaboration with Regional/Local Procurement teams to create & manage sub-category supplier lists in the most efficient & effective manner. Creates Category/sub-Category business plans to be shared with internal GIP network

 

2. Supplier Management: 
Identifies, proposes and manages Global supplier pool and develop SRM for selected category. Negotiates global terms & conditions to ensure optimum, sustainable supply conditions. Recommends timely strategic decisions to prevent Procurement inefficiencies. Demonstrates ability to challenge status quo, runs projects that will add value to both Procurement and Business Functions. Provides necessary support to regional, cluster or local procurement teams for implementation. Contributes in building Innovation & Sustainability strategy with Global suppliers and promotes any ideas that could represent a competitive advantage for JTI.

 

3. KPIs & Targets: 
Ensures appropriate Demand Management process is in place when required. Delivers on set targets and KPIs. Recommends strategic sourcing plan/decisions. Where appplicable, leads and /or supports sourcing processes in close cooperation with respective business partners to ensure best combination of quality, cost and service parameters / conditions for products and services. Ensures strategy implementation and monitors performance and potential deviation. Takes corrective action(s) when required. 
 

4. Business Partnership: 
Ensures business connectivity for set category and scope. Focuses on demonstrating value of Business Partnership, by developing a customer-oriented approach. Aligns strategy with key business partners and ensures it meets business priorities. Establishes alignment and effective communication among procurement organization, business partners and suppliers. Takes preventive actions to ensure business continuity and manages any risk associated with suppliers.  Assumes responsibilities for additional projects, tasks as assigned by line manager and shows professionalism in all aspects of work.


 

5. Market Intelligence: 
Provides and shares Category intelligence & insights throughout Procurement and Business networks, identifies trends and opportunities. Shares and applies best practices by utilizing latest models and takes necessary actions for areas of improvement. Conducts risk assessment of supply, builds contingency plans, finds alternative ideas, solutions in securing best conditions for the company including extensive market research and proactive sourcing of innovative suppliers. 


 

Who are we looking for – requirements

 

University degree
Minimum 5 years experience in similar environment in a multinational company, experience in Information Technologies and Digital is an asset
English (business language) other languages are an asset.
Strategic thinking, Negotiations, Communication, Interpersonal, Financial analysis, Leadership, Business Environment, Stakeholder Management & Network, Decision making, Status Quo Challenging, Team Spirit. MS Office tools and SAP.
