Position Summary:
The Global Business Line Manager (GBLM) position is responsible for the overall commercial management of the Westlock Controls product portfolio. They will be responsible for developing the short and long-term strategies for the portfolio, including development of the winning business model, and actively monitor and drive the market level pricing, appropriate cost targets, quality requirements, and lead time requirements of the product line. The GBLM will also contribute to cross functional New Product Development teams and support in the execution of taking products from ideation to launch. The GBLM will work closely with the Marketing team and identify new opportunities in industries where the Westlock products can be successfully applied.
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
The development of the Westlock Controls products global short and long-term strategies, and for their implementation by region, including:
Business Model Impact and Growth Strategy
Responsible for business model development and supporting its execution, including demand input for the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) processTarget growth/new business development initiatives and opportunitiesResponsible for identifying product portfolio gapsParticipate in evaluation to determine whether to develop new products internally or acquire through acquisition or international sourcing (branding)Responsible for development and launch of new products, using the Crane New Product Development (NPD) processProvide input on key process applications in order to identify new opportunities where our products can be utilized, both in current applications and in new applications being developedWorking with Sales Managers and Engineering to define product release requirements, marketing strategy, product positioning, and target customersPrice / Quality / Delivery Targets
Responsible for Orders, Sales, and Margins of the product portfolioResponsible for the attainment of the product goals by cost, quality and delivery; execute product cost strategy in conjunction with operationsResponsible for development and implementation of product line pricing and profitability by customer and order typesPrice List definition and implementationMonitor competitor marketing and pricing activities and develop counter-strategiesProject win/loss analysisAssists the Operations teams with technical and commercial information requestsEvaluate customer and distributor surveys to maintain a pulse on the served market’s perception of our performance relative to price, quality and lead timeCommunication
Provide input to the appropriate marketing communications program for the product lines including literature, training, advertising, trade shows, etc., to drive consistent above market level brand growth and profitabilityContribute to the development of product-related training materialsEnsures training for both internal and external employees and channelsBe seen as a visible, vocal leader helping to define and communicate the company’s overall strategyActively communicate product commercial issues to ensure that the company remains competitive and meets customer needsParticipate in and provide leadership on our communication programs to improve the communication and order processing efficiency with our channel partnersAnnual Planning
Assisting and supporting the development of strategic and annual operations plan for the Westlock Controls product linesInterfacing with sales leadership (Director, Regional), channels, and customers to determine:Annual sales plan (targets) by regionProjects and prospectsProduct application, technical and service supportEssential Qualifications / Experience:
College degree or equivalent educational experience, in a technical or business related subject e.g. engineering, manufacturing, business systems or marketing5-7 years experience in product management for a technical productExcellent presentation skillsCustomer focusedIntegrity and ethical qualities of the highest standardProficient in MS Office25% to 30% travel will be required based on customer needsPreferred Qualifications/Experience
Masters in Business AdministrationExperience in Industrial product marketing or channel management experienceOil & Gas / Power / Chemical industry experienceKnowledge of different sales strategiesExperience with product life cycle managementTrained in operational excellence or Lean Manufacturing, and the use of related tools#CPE
Salary range: $175,000 to $190,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
