In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develop and manage the processes and controls that enable business flow.
OUR IMPACT
The Agency Loan Servicing team is seeking an experienced professional to administer syndicated loans where Goldman Sachs acts as the Administrative Agent, based on the terms outlined in the Credit Agreement. This role is critical for collaborating with external and internal partners, requiring strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills. The specialist will operate within the Loans market, demonstrating an understanding of loan accounting and cash reconciliation. A key aspect of the role involves performing important risk management and control-side functions by applying in-depth knowledge of industry standards and practices, reviewing and understanding the application of credit agreement terms, and confirming requests are compliant before processing. The team serves as the primary point of contact for Borrowers and Syndicate Members, facilitating ongoing scheduled and ad hoc servicing events. This position demands timely and effective communication, high-quality execution, and a client-centric approach to deliver excellent internal and external customer service, all while vigilantly monitoring changes in the business, markets, and regulatory environment. Team members are expected to consistently deliver on day-to-day execution and contribute to strategic initiatives, including suggesting and initiating workflow changes to support global strategy.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Loan Documentation & Transactional Processing: Demonstrate a solid understanding of industry and business standards and practices related to loan documentation processes. Perform day-to-day loan transactional processing, including Borrower advances, invoicing, payment collection and distribution, and reconciliations.External Customer Engagement: Engage directly with external customers to disseminate or explain information regarding positions, exceptions, outstanding balances, and claims.Internal Collaboration & Risk Management: Work closely with the team and internal stakeholders to meet client needs. Minimize risk through a solid understanding of policy and procedural requirements and serve as a checker for activities processed by other team members.Issue Resolution: Independently deal with most loan-related discrepancies and exercise judgment to resolve complex issues, interpreting against policies, guidelines, or processes where expertise is required.Regulatory Reporting: Contribute to or assist as a data provider for weekly, monthly, and quarterly regulatory reporting requirements, including Federal Reserve Board (FRB), Bank Holding Company (BHC), and Shared National Credit (SNC) reports.Process Enhancement & Innovation: Apply judgment when interpreting data, summarizing conclusions, and presenting findings to management. Lead or participate in enhancements to existing and/or creation of new workflows, processes, procedures, and system functionality to increase the efficacy and efficiency of the team’s loan servicing functions or day-to-day management.Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration: Leverage highly developed communication skills to engage with various internal and external stakeholders to resolve transactional discrepancies and to collaborate on process and product enhancements and improvements.Teamwork & Adaptability: Display the ability to function as a team player while working in a fast-paced environment. Proactively escalate issues and take initiative to both resolve and drive change on processes.Mentorship & Global Collaboration: Provide informal guidance and/or on-the-job training to new team members. Collaborate with Global teams in New York, Dallas, London, Bengaluru, and Asia on initiatives supporting the loans market.Industry Participation: Participate in industry initiatives facilitated by the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) and Loan Market Association (LMA).BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a finance-related field.Experience: Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in Loan Servicing (Syndicated Loans).Technical Proficiency: Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent organizational skills, proven analytical skills, enhanced problem-solving ability, and a strong control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail.Communication & Relationship Building: Aptitude for building relationships and the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal clients with differing levels of product experience.Leadership & Ownership: Strong leadership skills, ability to gather stakeholder support for initiatives across the teams and see them through to execution. Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, possesses strong organizational skills, and can effectively manage competing priorities.Accuracy & Responsiveness: High attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy and responsiveness.Adaptability: Flexible and able to work well under pressure within a team environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
