With the SMM team our platform developers, researchers and traders co-own the trading business. As a trading group we aim to leverage best-in-class technology and quantitative approaches to produce scalable and repeatable returns across the assets we trade, as well as innovation in how the division provides liquidity to our client franchise. We are looking for someone with a passion for using technology to drive commercial results, to focus on building our equities systematic market making business. The team structure is designed to embrace hybrid skillsets across software development, quantitative research and trading.

SYSTEMATIC MARKET MAKING – Equities

Equities SMM is a systematic market making business covering, equity stock, futures, and ETFs. SMM focuses on providing liquidity to clients, primarily via electronic channels, in stocks, futures and ETFs. Our mission is to grow liquidity provision, increase innovation across the division, generate trading revenues, and run systematic trading and risk management strategies. As an automated trading business, SMM manages both the financial and operational risks trading revenues and aims to keep manual intervention to a minimum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a developer role, within a fast-paced front office environment. A focus on our C++ framework and applications, developing complex features and improvements to business demands. 

A key contributor to the design and implementation of low-level platform improvements. Involved in close interaction with our research, trading teams. 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented developer to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong foundational understanding of C++ and a keen interest in applying their skills in the financial markets. You will contribute to the development and optimization of our trading systems

Must-haves

Programming Knowledge: A solid understanding of C++/Java programming languages, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.Software Development Projects: Demonstrated ability to contribute to software development projects, potentially including academic projects, internships, or open-source contributions.System Design: Basic understanding of high-performance application concepts and an interest in performance optimization.Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with an eagerness to learn, ask questions, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Preferred-haves:

C++ Development Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience in C++ based developmentFinancial Markets Interest: A strong interest in financial markets, securities, or trading, with a willingness to learn about market making, risk management, and hedging algorithms.Exposure to Trading Systems: Familiarity with or an interest in real-time systems and low-latency requirements.Additional Technical Skills: Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git), Linux environments, and scripting languages like Python.
