AECOM is seeking a self-motivated, detailed oriented candidate, with advanced French language proficiency, who is interested in a career involving analytical data management, database programming or data science. As part of our team, you will work on large environmental projects across America, and support ERM’s projects worldwide. This position will be based in our office in Bucharest, Romania.
Job DescriptionHere is what you will do:
Operates independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities at this level include the designing and programming of databases.
Design and programming is needed for each project and can also be task specific.
Uses more advanced levels within the software platforms.
May direct the work of Level I and II GIS Specialists. Responsibilities could include overall project or task management.
Independently executes and delivers GIS projects of moderate to significant scope and complexity.
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Produce drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphics of engineering designs using computer-aided drafting software
Requires a good working knowledge of ArcMap Pro
ArcGIS -Esri suite of software
Produce detailed, high-quality cartographic products and accompanying reports
Compile, manipulate and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including, but not limited to field observation, digital aerial photography, and existing maps
Perform regular quality control checks of GIS Data and non-spatial databases.
QualificationsHere’s what we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in civil or surveying drafting design.
Proficiency in GIS software tools, such as ArcGIS, ArcMap, ArcMap Pro, QGIS
Experience managing small projects and mentoring junior staff.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
General knowledge of basic geologic principles and the environmental sciences.
Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.
Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.
Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.
Excellent communication skills to include:
Advanced French language competency, both written and verbal
English language competency, both written and verbal
Preferred Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in geography, geoinformatics, environment science cartography, civil engineering or related discipline.
Experience in Database, Esri suite of software, AutoCAD 2d, AutoCAD Civil 3d and/or MicroStation.
