Job Description The Principal GIS Programmer/Analyst is a subject matter expert in geospatial technology, combining high-level programming and analytical skills to lead the support of enterprise GIS solutions. This role works with across departments to analyze, design, build, and support custom and OTS solutions. The principal programmer/analyst serves as a technical resource for other staff and stakeholders. Skills and Requirements • Education: A bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. • Experience: Minimum five years of experience designing, developing, and supporting complex geospatial data systems and applications. • Technical skills: o Expertise in GE Smallworld 4.x and Oracle databases is required, including InSync and Design Manager. Experience with ESRI’s GIS software, Microsoft SQL Server, and SAP HANA is a plus. o Proficiency in Smallworld Magik is required. Fluency in Python, Java, and SQL preferred. o Prefer experience with web development frameworks and REST APIs. • Analytical skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to research complex issues and develop effective solutions. • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
