Join a leading energy company as a GIS Officer, where your expertise in Geographic Information Systems will play a crucial role in supporting strategic operations in Papua New Guinea's dynamic environment.

Role Overview

Mapping: Perform primary cartographer role to create and modify maps, graphs, and diagrams using GIS software and related equipment. GIS Maintenance: Support the GIS Coordinator and GIS Specialist in maintaining the Geographic Information System (GIS) database, focusing on Land Access, M&E, Societal, Environment, HSSE, Operations, and Cultural Heritage. Integration Support: Assist in the integration of project-wide Geographic Information Systems. Register Maintenance: Maintain all GIS registers (Map, Data, Document, ILARF/NOLA, etc.) and dashboards for reporting purposes. Reporting: Provide weekly updates to the GIS Team on all registers and dashboards. Field Assistance: Assist other divisions with field data collection and mapping upon request.

Skills & Qualifications

Geotech: Proficient in geotechnical analysis. Software Proficiency: Experience with Seisworks - Z map and geophysical survey performance. GIS Software Knowledge: Basic understanding of ArcGIS Pro and QGIS. Field Survey Tools: Familiarity with Handheld GPS, Survey 123, and Field Maps. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and computing skills. Legal Knowledge: Basic understanding of the Oil and Gas Act and land-related laws.

Education & Experience

Degree: Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems or higher with equivalent experience. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in field data collection, mapping, and database management.
