Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Geotechnical Technician To align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within his team and the business and on a practical note will ensure activities are effectively planned and undertaken in a safe and cost effective manner to achieve targets in accordance to Barrick Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures :

Reporting to: Senior Geotechnical Technician

Duration: Permanent

Responsibilities:

 

To work under the direction of the Geotechnical Engineer to ensure the interests of the Company are upheld Daily inspections of active underground headings Geotechnical core logging of diamond drill coresGeotechnical mapping of underground development headingsStope inspectionsInstallation of ground movement monitoring systems and recording of instrumentation dataGround support designsPaste fill designsQAQC of paste fillLaser scanning, tracking seismic data trends and maintaining the rock noise databaseMaintaining adequate stocks of ground support consumables on siteQAQC of installed ground support units (pull testing)Promote health and safety in the workplaceCompliance with all statutory regulations and proceduresCompliance with all the Company’s Policies and ProceduresUpward reporting as required

 

 

Qualification Requirements:

Diploma in Mining Engineering/ Geology / Civil or equivalent

 Experience and Skills Requirements:

Minimum 1 year experience in an underground mining environment

Must have a valid Tanzania driving license and able to drive a light vehicle in underground environment.

Knowledge of any relevant geotechnical or mining design software will add advantage.
