Raba Kistner is seeking an enthusiastic Geotechnical Driller Helper to join our team in Beaumont, TX. Responsibilities will be to provide support, operation, and maintenance of exploration equipment, support vehicles and other equipment in the drilling fleet. Assist in operating exploration equipment, field logging collection of geotechnical samples, and provide drilling sample information.


Assists driller in preparing drilling equipment and supplies for jobs.Drives assigned equipment to drill sites.Assists, as required, to complete drilling job assignments.Assists in collecting logging supplies required for each job.Prepares legible, accurate, and detailed logs for each boring drilled.Packages samples for transportation to laboratory.Turns in field notes, logs, and boring location map upon their completion.Informs drilling supervisor of worn or broken drill tools and when drilling and logging supplies are in low supply and should be reordered.Clean equipment and drilling fleet.Assists driller and project engineer as required.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

High school diploma or (General Education Development) GED. Posses a current valid state issued driver’s license and meet company's auto insurability requirements. Class B CDL driver’s license or ability to obtain Class B CDL within 90 days of employment preferred

Good oral and written communication skills including the ability to write short correspondences, notes, letters and memos. Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs. Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be safety minded and willing to put safety first in performing all duties.

Work environment includes potential exposure to movement of heavy equipment on construction or roadway sites; potential exposure to hazardous dangerous chemicals and solvents, noise, dust, fumes, grease and oils, radiant and electrical energy, and vibration; all of which would require employee to follow implement and follow proper safety procedures and utilize appropriate protective equipment. Regular use of non-complex machines and equipment. Work assignments are frequently performed outside in all weather conditions.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
