Summary:
The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is a team of dedicated professionals providing core technology and cybersecurity services to agencies statewide, enabling state employees to serve Idaho's citizens. We sincerely hope you will consider being a part of our success!
ITS currently has an opportunity for a Geospatial Information System (GIS) Manager to join our team at our Chinden Office in Boise.
Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass multiple, comprehensive fingerprint-based background checks specific to the agencies ITS supports.
Example of Duties:
Management:
+ Manages staff;
+ Develops and implements policies and procedures;
+ Motivates and develops team members.
Operations:
+ Manages the operations of assigned IT areas, including costs, methods, technology, and vendor management;
+ Analyzes complex and technical problems requiring diagnosis, testing, and judgment of which procedure is most important.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Good knowledge of management practices.
+ Considerable knowledge of current trends in information technology;
+ Computer hardware and software capabilities and limitations.
+ Experience supervising the staff and activities of an IT function;
+ Participating in short-and long-range IT planning including developing and implementing policies and procedures.
MQ Specialties:
+ Considerable knowledge of digital-data technologies, geographic information systems, and digital image data.
+ Experience conducting technical training;
+ Analyzing and explaining complex data and analytics to senior management and external stakeholders;
+ Developing geographic information system projects.
