Job Title: Geologist Job Description We are seeking a skilled geologist who will develop work plans and protocols, supervise and coordinate field staff and activities, and assist with field implementation. The successful candidate will oversee data collection and reduction, interpret findings, and prepare technical reports with remediation recommendations. Additionally, they will track task schedules, budgets, and invoicing, ensure compliance with company and client standards, support the training and growth of junior staff, and collaborate with senior leadership to build consulting and leadership skills. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting. + Strong background in site investigation, remediation, and task management. + Ability to design and manage field programs, including scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination. + Experience leading Site and Remedial Investigation field activities. + Skill in interpreting hydrogeologic data. + Solid project and task management capabilities. + Strong analytical and data evaluation skills. + Effective written and verbal communication. + Familiarity with technical protocols and regulatory standards. + Willingness to mentor and support junior staff through hands-on technical guidance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with the Illinois Site Remediation Program (SRP) is preferred. + Professional Geologist (P.G.) or P.E. license is a plus. Work Environment This position requires 70% office work and 30% field work, with a hybrid schedule necessitating office presence at least 3 days a week. The projects are predominantly local to Chicago, including high-profile sites such as airports and large corporate clients. The company provides trucks for client sites requiring overnight travel or further job sites. If trucks are unavailable, rental car expenses are covered. On typical days, employees use their own vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement. The work environment fosters collaboration, with teams working together from project initiation to completion, promoting a non-siloed approach. Long-term opportunities include obtaining professional licensure and advancing to project management roles. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
