Job Description
The General Utility Worker role is an entry-level position within the production team, encompassing a variety of duties. This general labor role requires employees to adhere to meat processing policies and procedures, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations, ensuring all production areas remain clean and sanitary.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas.Communicate issues leading to unsanitary conditions promptly.Remove product and packing materials from the floor.Dispose of and track inedible products properly.Separate and remove trash and recycling from production areas.Prepare and stage production areas with empty containers for the next shift.Assist with preparing and disassembling equipment for operations or sanitation.Assist in the collection, opening, and reuse of rework while ensuring proper product identification to prevent cross-contamination.Relieve co-workers for breaks and assist in other positions as needed.Complete assigned paperwork accurately.Assist in training new employees.Check in with area supervisors for additional tasks at the end of shifts.Perform visual inspections of cases to ensure proper labeling and legible code dates.Make necessary machinery adjustments for smooth production.Operate a manual hand jack as needed.Communicate equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.Prepare supplies and workstations for the next shift.Stage ingredients in 50-pound containers for product flow.Arrange meat as instructed and per specifications.Comb, hang, transport, and stack products continuously.Inspect products on a conveyor belt for quality specifications.Essential Skills

Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
