Job Title: General Production Worker ($19/hr.)

Job Description

Join our team as a General Production Worker, where you will use hand tools and equipment to clean machinery and work areas. Your role involves cleaning ash, oil, and spills, and performing thorough cleaning during shutdowns. This position requires physical endurance, including lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and climbing ladders and stairs at times. You will use personal protective equipment (PPE) for safety in certain areas.

Responsibilities

Use hand tools and equipment for cleaning tasks on machinery and work areas.Clean ash from products and shovel into buckets.Address oil spills and other cleaning needs around machinery.Perform overall cleaning of machinery during shutdowns.Lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, or crawl as needed.Utilize PPE such as double hearing protection, fire-resistant coveralls, eye protection, and hard hats.

Essential Skills

Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.Flexibility to work varied hours if required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with power washing or hydro blasting equipment.Understanding of confined spaces or respirator usage.Experience in landscaping or farming is a potential fit.

Work Environment

Work as a 3rd party contractor in a steel mill environment, which is hot, dirty, loud, dusty, and oily. Be prepared for a standard 40-hour work week with potential overtime. The typical start time is 6:30 am with 8-hour shifts, though shifts may start as early as 2 am. PPE is required, including steel toe boots, eye protection, hard hats, double hearing protection, and FR coveralls.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delta, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
