Lead the Way

We're seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and passionate General Manager.

 

As the General Manager of JINYA Ramen Bar, you'll be responsible for maintaining the highest level of operational excellence and delivering the Doherty WOW!

Your leadership and guidance will be instrumental in maintaining all operating standards of JINYA Ramen Bar for the entire management team and hourly associates. 

Collaborating with the management team to create a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our team and guests while building WOW sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

 

Operations/Knowledge and Analysis:

Understands the P & L and the budgeting process. Accurately completes closeouts and reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis. Completes accurate sales and cost projections. Has a good working knowledge of specs and standards in both the BOH and FOH.Proactively identifies food, beverage, or service opportunities during a shift. Accurately analyzes data to determine the strengths and opportunities of the restaurant. Through asking questions, observation, and analysis can accurately identify the source of a problem.  Can effectively locate, explain, and analyze reports for key metrics.

 

Writes effective SMART business plans that target the right priorities.Effectively gets the team to align on the priorities and to manage with consistency. Effectively communicates goals, roles, and responsibilities to the management and staff. Facilitates effective manager meetings. Follows-up and holds the team accountable for responsibilities and results. Reviews and updates plan often. Write an effective schedule that balances the need for team development and satisfaction with the needs of the business. Achieves balanced and desired results in managing sales, costs, productivity, food and beverage quality, guest service, team morale, and relationships with the community.

 

Establishes and communicates clear rules and manages fairly and consistently within company policies and practices. Effectively motivates and communicates standards and expectations through high-energy pre-shift and post-shift communication. Facilitates effective and collaborative Individual Development Plan discussions, as applicable. Accurately identifies and communicates an individual's development needs.Writes and delivers accurate and specific behavioral feedback to managers and staff consistently through one on ones and evaluations.  Holds managers and staff accountable for individual behavior and performance issues.Builds strong teams and maintains appropriate staffing levels that reflect the diversity of the community. Adheres to, supports, and follows-up with managers and staff on the standards of restaurant training programs and the hiring process.

 

Passion for Service:

Develops a culture of "WOW" service and hospitality though words and actions. Clearly communicates the expectations of guest service to managers and staff.  Takes a proactive, guest-focused approach to all aspects of staffing. Conducts frequent table visits. Monitors the responsible service of alcohol. Seeks out and responds positively to guest feedback, always searching for ways to provide better quality food, beverage, and service. Reads each individual guest's needs and accommodates special occasions. Monitor's manager and staff behaviors and identifies opportunities from the guest's perspective.  Promotes loyalty through developing regular guests and community involvement.  Demonstrates a sense of urgency in resolving guest issues completely and to the guest's satisfaction. Effectively identifies service priorities through guest complaints and shopper reports and takes action.

Qualifications

The ideal General Manager candidate will have the following qualifications:

2-5 Years General Manager Experience in Restaurant Industry.Proven leadership experience within a restaurant organization.Demonstrated strength in both BOH and FOH operations including strong kitchen/food knowledge, cost control, inventory quality assurance and guest satisfaction.Experience analyzing financial reports.Proven track record of delivering results in a complex, fast-paced environment.Demonstrated leadership capability to build strong teams and to achieve business goals.Ability to plan and set goals and communicate directions to others. Willingness to uphold company values through behavior and words. Excellent interpersonal, communication and general business skills, and a demonstrated record of significant operational accomplishments.A college degree is preferred, and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Lives in or willing to relocate within 30 minutes of the Hackensack New Jersey area.
