An exceptional opportunity to lead the Germany commercial business of a high-performance global instrumentation & technology company that protects water quality around the world.
This will suit a General Manager / Senior Commercial Leader from a B2B technology or equipment sales background, who has owned P&L, developed large teams (including managers) and consistently delivered accelerated growth.
**The Opportunity**
Motivated by the highest possible stakes of climate change and global health, at **Hach** (www.hach.com), a Veralto company, we’re working together with customers to find innovative technologies that guarantee the safety of our water and our environment.
Based remotely in Germany (preferably Düsseldorf or Berlin) and visiting with customers and associates 2 to 3 days a week, the **General Manager – Germany** will hold P&L responsibility and lead a commercial group of ~100 associates across sales and customer care.
The jobholder will develop and execute transformative growth strategies and customer plans that leverage Hach’s strong business and technology foundation. The GM will input to strategic planning, provide inspirational leadership, accelerate sales growth of Hach’s solutions, deliver exceptional services to the customer-installed base, embrace lean methodology, and enhance profitability and market share.
**In this role, a typical day will look like:**
+ Deliver Country Business Target Revenue, costs and profits as well as Country Working Capital
+ Develop and execute commercial strategies to achieve accelerated growth targets while increasing customer satisfaction.
+ Be an active communicator throughout the organization, build strong relationships with teams, peers, Senior Management and Global stakeholders to maximize our “win as a team” spirit
+ Provide outstanding leadership that promotes followership, professional development and engagement through shared purpose and values
+ Act as the Managing Director of the local entity in Germany
**Education, Background and Skill Requirements:**
+ Progressive commercial experience including a sales background and P&L business leadership within largescale, international B2B organizations (ideally hardware / technology instrumentation / diagnostic tools etc)
+ Demonstrated track record of driving commercial growth with a focus on customer acquisition, market share expansion and operating margins
+ Seasoned leader and a ‘manager of managers’, ideally on a national scale, providing inspiration, coaching and mentorship to multiple sales/services leaders
+ Has both strategic and tactical capabilities, can analyze the market, competitors and company strengths and weaknesses while designing winning commercial strategies
+ Strong operational and analytical mindset. Comfortable managing a complex, high-performance and KPI-driven business with a strong focus on data, reporting and continuous improvement
+ Superior interpersonal and communication skills (speak fluent German and English)
+ Flexible to travel across Germany 2-3 days a week
+ Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Masters preferred
