We are recruiting for an experienced medical devices leader to join us as General Manager EP, UK & Ireland, responsible for developing strategic objectives for the region and translating into operating plans to grow sales and profit in line with agreed targets. The General Manger will build and lead a high performance organization to support delivery, ensuring operational integrity and compliance throughout.
What you will do:
Leads a high performing cross functional team, providing support, feedback and advice to ensure strong results, develops team capabilities, rewarding employees appropriately and addresses performance management issues in a timely mannerDrive sales process effectiveness, helping sales teams apply a consultative sales process enabling them to build value propositions that maximize the attractiveness of the Abbott offering and supports cross-divisional input Develop deep knowledge of the market, emerging trends, opportunities and threats, including competitor offeringsSupports strategic plan process, develop the vision for the team’s targets and directionEffective business forecasting, control and reporting, regularly reevaluating performance against forecasts and budgets and takes timely action to meet agreed targetsFinancial management, to include local P&L, controlling costs in line with annual expense operating plansBuild relationships with external decision influencers, industry associations, regulatory bodies, local KOLs etc.Specifies organisational design and headcount requirementsOperates in an ethical, disciplined and orderly way, encouraging coaching and responds productively to feedbackWhat you will need:
Education
University Degree or equivalent in economics, business and/or medical field. Post graduate education preferred.Experience
Management experience within the complex medical devices environment, cardiology strongly preferred with a proven track record of building high performing, varied (sales, clinical, education) teamsSignificant prior experience with people leadership roles in sales and marketing and with P&L responsibility Comprehensive knowledge of the local healthcare market, pricing/contracting strategies and regulatory/reimbursement environmentProven track record of developing local commercial strategies and delivering above market growth and taking share from competitorsDemonstrated success of being a change agentDemonstrated effectiveness to work across a matrix organization and build relationships and network with key internal and external stakeholdersAttributes
