The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work at CMI’s customer site in Laredo, TX.
Key Job Functions
Maintains services, and conducts minor repairs on facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at various sites.Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, grounds, escorting, and other duties assigned.Assists maintenance mechanics, HVAC Technicians and other workers with their tasks.Repairs or replaces concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tilesReplaces broken windowpanesMaintain Replaces light fixtures, motors, using joint compound to patch holes and cracks in walls and ceilingsRepairs or replaces sink faucets, water coolers, toilets, urinals, paints structures and equipmentRepairs or replaces stone pavers/steps, hangs doors and installs door locks, and replaces broken window cranksPerforms general maintenance on equipment and machinery as requiredChanges lights, performs drain maintenancePerforms housekeeping of mechanical spaces and roomsMoves furniture and equipment as requiredHelps with event set ups and assists other trades workers as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalentMust have practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.Experience with replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment;This position must be able to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work in tight restricted spaces and work from a ladderGood customer service and communication skillsSelf-starter with good initiative to get the job done with little to no direct supervisionMust be able to pass a government background checkAdditional InformationCOMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
