General Maintenance Technician - JLL
What this job involves
As a Facility Maintenance Technician, you'll ensure the smooth operation of building systems and infrastructure in a regulated GMP environment. This role combines hands-on mechanical maintenance with general building repairs to support R&D operations. You'll work across various environments including labs, cleanrooms, mechanical rooms, and exterior areas, following strict protocols to maintain facility integrity. As part of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 68, you'll apply your technical skills to keep critical systems running while adhering to documentation and compliance requirements essential in regulated settings.
What your day-to-day will look like
Conducting scheduled inspections of building systems and equipmentPerforming preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment including oil changes, belt replacements, and lubricationServicing facility pumps, motors, fans, and air handling units/roof top unitsTroubleshooting mechanical issues such as vibration, leaks, or alignment problemsCompleting general building repairs (drywall patching, door hardware repairs, ceiling tile replacements)Installing and repairing fixtures, shelving, and custom furniturePainting interior surfaces with professional finishReplacing or repairing basic flooring (VCT, carpet tiles)Performing small-scale masonry work (concrete patching, sealing cracks, repairing walkways)Following GMP protocols in controlled environments including proper gowning and contamination controlResponding promptly to internal work order requests through the Corrigo CMMS systemMaintaining detailed documentation of all maintenance activities and parts usageSupporting safety inspections and compliance auditsCoordinating maintenance activities to minimize disruption to R&D operationsRequired Qualifications
High school diploma or GED3-5 years of facility maintenance experienceAt least 1-2 years of experience in a regulated, GMP, healthcare, or cleanroom settingProficiency in mechanical maintenance (changing oil, greasing, belt replacement, pump servicing)Skills in general building trades (painting, carpentry, basic flooring, and masonry)Ability to perform basic HVAC, electrical, and plumbing tasksExperience with CMMS systems and documentation proceduresAbility to read blueprints, equipment manuals, and schematicsStrong attention to detail and safety awarenessGood communication skillsPhysical ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, and work in tight or elevated spacesWillingness to use required PPE and follow cleanroom gowning protocolsAvailability for shift work, on-call rotation, and occasional weekend or emergency coveragePreferred Qualifications
Vocational or technical training in building maintenance, HVAC, or mechanical systemsExperience with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in regulated environmentsKnowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in GMP settingsExperience supporting compliance audits and inspectionsFamiliarity with Corrigo CMMS software specificallyExperience working in R&D or pharmaceutical environmentsAdvanced troubleshooting skills for building systemsKnowledge of contamination control protocols in cleanroom settingsLocation: Onsite
Work Shift: Monday-Friday 7a-330p or 930a-6p; depending on business needs
Salary/Compensation: $28.85/hour
Estimated total compensation for this position:
60,000.00 – 60,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
