General Maintenance Mid-Level Engineer

**Description:**
The **General Maintenance Engineer** is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the resort by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This mid-level role requires hands-on technical skill, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the flexibility to support resort operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Perform routine and corrective maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities
+ Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues
+ Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment and facilities remain in safe working condition
+ Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and internal departments
+ Assist with pool, spa, and exterior maintenance as needed
+ Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and Hyatt brand standards
+ Coordinate with supervisors and external vendors when advanced repairs are required
+ Support emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours calls as scheduled
**Schedule & Availability**
+ Must be available to work **weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts** as required by resort operations
+ On-call availability may be required

**Qualifications:**
+ Minimum **2–3 years of maintenance or engineering experience** , preferably in a hotel or resort setting
+ Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance
+ Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs independently
+ Pool Operator Certification (CPO) or willingness to obtain
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest service excellence
+ Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently with minimal supervision
+ Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions
+ Basic computer skills for work order systems preferred
