Cheyenne Mountain Resort opened in 1985 and sits on 25 acres of land. The 4-StarFull Serviceproperty is nestled in the lush greens of Southern Colorado Springs and oversees impressive mountain views, along with exciting activities like golf, swimming, and tennis. These allow for the unique experience that you can only get at this resort.
**Hourly Rate:** $18.00
**Position Overview:** The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the resort by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This role requires hands-on technical skill, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the flexibility to support resort operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This person will work the evening shift.
Job Functions & Responsibilities:
+ Perform routine and corrective maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
+ Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment and facilities remain in safe working condition.
+ Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and internal departments.
+ Assist with pool, spa, and exterior maintenance as needed.
+ Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work orders.
+ Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and Hyatt brand standards.
+ Coordinate with supervisors and external vendors when advanced repairs are required.
+ Support emergency maintenance situations, including after-hours calls as scheduled.
+ Perform interior and exterior painting of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas to maintain brand presentation standards.
+ Patch, sand, and repair drywall, plaster, and other wall surfaces prior to painting.
+ Match and mix paint colors to maintain consistency throughout the property.
+ Repair minor surface damage including dents, cracks, and water stains.
+ Maintain painting tools, equipment, and inventory of supplies.
+ Ensure proper surface preparation and finishing techniques to deliver high-quality workmanship.
+ Follow safety procedures related to paint handling, ventilation, ladder usage, and equipment operation.
+ Support minor renovation and refresh projects as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
+ A minimum of one year building maintenance experience is strongly preferred, with hotel experience preferred
+ Experience maintaining equipment, painting, and plumbing is preferred
+ Good customer service and communication skills are required
+ Ability to use hand tools and power tools is required
+ Must have availability to work a flexible schedule
+ Ability to work without direct supervision
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
+ Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
+ Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight of about 50 pounds
+ Must be a team player but able to work independently as well
