General Machinist (Rotor Balance Assembly, 3rd shift)

The shop floor is responsible for the machining, fit-up,
assembly, and quality of a wide variety of parts for compressors and associated
components.
As a machinist with Siemens-Energy you will be responsible
for completing multiple part setups, machining the parts complete and
inspecting them daily for one of our critical part families **.**
**How You’ll Make an Impact**
+ Plan,layout and perform all machine operations on both conventional and N/Cmachines to construct, alter, repair, and finish a variety ofparts. Maintain close tolerances.
+ Produceparts from past prints, samples, sketches or drawings and check work,using standard and/or special gauging devices to assure conformity and tomaintain quality standards.
+ Deburr,file, grind, chip, and fit parts made from cast iron, cast steel,malleable iron, nodular iron, sheet, and bar steel. Removeburrs, fins and sharp edges using belt sanders, electric bench grinders,air operator rotary files, and hand files.
+ Settools and make all adjustments required on tooling, both standard andpresent, changing presetting when necessary.
+ Operatematerial handling equipment, such as, but not restricted to, hand truck,fork or lift truck, crane, hoist, etc. for incidental delivery orreceiving or material to or from adjoining areas of the shop.
+ Diagnoseand remedy trouble. Ensure coolant logs aremaintained. Keep machines clean and lubricated, followingperiodic check list for preventive maintenance and aid in machinerepair. Work areas are to be kept neat, clean, safe, andorderly.
**What You Bring**
+ Musthave a High School Diploma or GED with 1 -3 years machining experience ina manufacturing environment.
+ Mustbe willing to work 3rd shift and be flexible enough to work 1 st or2 nd shift on occasion as business requires.
+ Mustdemonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Familiaritywith Microsoft Office Suite, with basic to intermediate computer skills.
+ Displaysan attitude conducive to progress through positive change, continuousimprovement, and active contributor to the teamwork concept.
+ Mathskills to take precise measurements and make calculations.
