The General Ledger (GL) Accountant will be a key member of Simulmedia’s Finance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial records. You will work closely with both U.S. and Ukraine-based finance teams to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses, while supporting monthly close and audit processes. This role requires a solid accounting background, strong technical skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions to maintain efficient and compliant financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Operations
●      Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses.
●      Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate variances.
●      Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany activity.
●      Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in compliance with US GAAP.
●      Assist in preparing audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
●      Partner with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and FP&A to ensure accurate transaction processing and reporting.
●      Work with senior finance team members to ensure appropriate expense recognition and account classification.
●      Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis through accurate account reconciliations and data insights.
Compliance & Controls
●      Help ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and compliance with US GAAP.
●      Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all journal entries and reconciliations.
●      Support tax compliance and reporting requirements as applicable.

Process Improvement & Special Projects
●      Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting workflows.
●      Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
●      Participate in key financial initiatives and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
Experience
●      3–5 years of experience in general accounting or GL roles for a company.
●      Solid background in US GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
●      Prior experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audits.
Education:
●      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Skills:
●      Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
●      Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
●      Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
●      Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Qualifications:
●      Experience working with international or remote finance teams is a plus.
●      Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis preferred.
