GFL Environmental is looking for a General Laborer to join our team in Maple Ridge, BC!

The Job:

The General Laborer is responsible for supporting daily operations at a hauling company, transfer station, materials recycling facility (MRF), or landfill. This position performs a variety of physical and operational tasks to maintain cleanliness, efficiency, and safety of the worksite. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform general site maintenance, including yard clean-up and debris removalFuel vehicles and heavy equipment as requiredOperate basic site vehicles and equipment in a safe and responsible mannerAssist with traffic control and direct vehicles within the facilitySupport loading, unloading, and sorting of recyclable or waste materialsConduct general maintenance tasks in office or facility buildingsMonitor site for safety or environmental concerns and report any issuesComply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standardsPerform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in general labor, construction, or waste management an assetAbility to perform physical tasks in various weather conditionsStrong work ethic and reliabilityBasic understanding of safety practices and equipment operationAbility to work independently and as part of a teamValid driver’s license may be required depending on location
