Position: General Labour – Polisher

Reports to: Lead Hand

Location: Speers Rd. (Oakville, ON)

Dayshift: 6:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Friday (10hrs) 5 days a week

Payrate: $18.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour to start

Our client is a world class precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies that use sheet metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly and paint. They use state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team manufacturing environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for our strategic partners.

We are looking for a General Labor – Polisher to work in Production Department.

Responsibilities

Perform sheet metal finishing/polishing duties in accordance with work orders and inspection sheets - using angle grinders, die grinders, stroke sander, files and other metal contouring and finishing tools. Read and interpret work orders Perform quality work as required in work orders in a timely fashion Actively participate in safety training and demonstrate competency by effectively resolving safety issues or bringing them to the attention of management Understand and comply with Company Health & Safety standards and programs Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards Use initiative to take corrective actions Work overtime and shifts as required Requirements

Education and Experience

Prior work experience in working with sheet metal (e.g. grinding and finishing stainless steel products) using angle grinders, die grinders, stroke sander, files, and other metal contouring and finishing tools. High school or equivalent

Responsible and reliable Stand and walk on concrete up to 100% of work day Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and crouchPhysically capable of performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including regular lifting and carrying of 5-23 kgs Ability to use hands to reach and to handle or feel Manual dexterity in hands for tool usage Ability to visibly inspect product Will be trained on crane/hoist and/or forklift as require Work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment Good interpersonal skills; customer focused and a team player Basic written and oral communication in English.

Salary and Benefits
