**Job Title: General Laborer** **Job Description** This role involves performing various physical tasks at building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites. The position includes operating hand and power tools, such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and other equipment and instruments. Responsibilities also include cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, and removing hazardous waste materials. This role may assist other craft workers while excluding those who primarily assist a particular craft worker. **Responsibilities** + Apply caulking compounds to seal crevices. + Build and position forms for pouring concrete and dismantle forms after use. + Clean construction site to eliminate hazards. + Dig ditches and level earth using pick and shovel. + Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, and braces. + Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines. + Load and unload trucks, hauling and hoisting materials. + Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery and tools. + Measure, mark, and record openings to lay out areas. + Mix ingredients to create compounds for surface coverage or cleaning. + Mop, brush, or spread paints and cleaning solutions over surfaces. + Position, join, align, and seal structural components. + Raze buildings and salvage useful materials. + Signal equipment operators for machinery alignment and movement. + Smooth and finish freshly poured cement using various tools. + Spray materials to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. + Tend machines that pump concrete, grout, or stucco. + Operate pumps, compressors, and generators for power supply. + Perform general physical activities requiring significant use of arms and legs. + Control machines and processes through physical activity. + Handle and move materials using hands and arms. + Monitor processes, materials, or surroundings to detect problems. + Repair and maintain mechanical equipment. **Essential Skills** + Knowledge of building and construction materials, methods, and tools. + Understanding mechanical principles and tools. + Engineering and technology application knowledge. + Design techniques and tools knowledge. + Mathematics proficiency including arithmetic and geometry. + Equipment selection and operation control. + Routine equipment maintenance and monitoring. + Repairing machines using appropriate tools. + Static and trunk strength for physical tasks. + Manual dexterity for object manipulation. + Multilimb coordination for simultaneous limb movements. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Concrete workers and finishers experience. + Construction laborer experience. + Pouring concrete skills. + Mechanical skills and aptitude. + Minimum 1+ years of recent construction background. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for development in construction skills. The company covers per diem expenses, ensuring no out-of-pocket costs for employees. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
