Shifts

 

We work 12-hour shifts, 4 days on with 3 days off.   You may be asked to work overtime in addition to the OT hours already built into your schedule.  OT over 40 hours is paid at time and ½.  Openings are primarily on our split or swing shift, but you should be available to move to either day or night shift if opportunities open to advance. Your first 60 days of training will take place on days. 

 

You must be able to work any of the shifts below. 

Night shift 7PM-7AM  Day Shift 7AM-7PM Split Shift (2) day & (2) nights Requires Saturday availability

How you will impact WestRock

We will train you to operate our converting machines to produce corrugated packagingYou will learn to perform routine maintenance on the machine & adjust the machine settings to achieve the desired dimensions and quality of the corrugated productsInspect the corrugated products for defects and take corrective actions as neededCommunicate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met safely with quality productsFollow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environmentKeep your work area clean and organizedAssist with other tasks as needed, such as loading and unloading materials or operating other machinery & mentoring new team members

What you need to succeed:

A safety mindsetExperience with high-speed, high-volume workAbility to reach and understand basic EnglishPhysical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work in a fast-paced environment. Our facility is not climate controlled. You may work up to 12-hour shifts if OT is necessary.Attention to detail, able to read a tape measure & ability to identify product defectsDesire to work in a team environmentWillingness to work required OT including SaturdaysRichmond Container is a union shop. Virginia is a right to work state; you are not required to join the union however you must respect the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
