Day (United States of America)Job DescriptionWellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our General Cardiology team at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. This weekend day position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality cardiac care in a collaborative hospital setting, while enjoying a flexible work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide general cardiology inpatient consultation and management, including admission workups and follow-up care.
Perform clinical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic testing, and develop treatment plans in collaboration with the attending cardiologist.
Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (Epic).
Collaborate with the cardiology team, hospitalists, nursing staff, and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
Participate in daily team rounds and discharge planning.
Ensure smooth hand-offs with weekday team at start and end of weekend coverage.
Qualifications:
Current Georgia license as a Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP preferred) or Physician Assistant.
Board Certification as an NP or PA.
Minimum 1–2 years of cardiology or acute care experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Comfortable managing complex inpatient cardiac patients under supervision of cardiologists.
