We are seeking a highly skilled General Accounting Lead within our Global Business Services (GBS). This role will be responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day processing of general accounting transactions, leading closing procedures while ensuring the integrity of financial analysis and reports

Accountabilities

Supervise daily financial data entry in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and prepare and post journal entries along with general ledger account reconciliations.

Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, making necessary adjustments to capture all financial activities and facilitate the Record to Report process by supplying detailed financial data for management review.

Lead and mentor a team of general accounting & reporting analysts with 5-20 direct and indirect reports, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, providing insightful reports and conducting financial variance analysis to deliver actionable insights for informed decision-making.

Review financial reports that ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations while collaborating with various departments to integrate financial data and streamline processes.

Act as the primary contact for statutory reporting, working closely with external auditors and consultants to ensure compliance and accuracy, and assist in audit preparations by providing necessary data and reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize general accounting & reporting process

Ensure compliance with relevant internal policy, accounting standards and regulations related to general accounting.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, Business Administration or a related field

7 + years of experience in general accounting and financial reporting

2 + years in a management role

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate reports.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines

Strong leadership and people management skills

CPA designation

Preferred:

Master’s degree in one of the fields mentioned above

Technical Skills and Knowledge

Essential:

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

·       Proficiency with Hyperion Finance Management (HFM)

·       Familiarity with Oracle ERP Suite and its related modules

·       Solid regional accounting knowledge (i.e., US GAAP and IFRS)

·       Knowledge of financial reporting metrics and process

Languages

Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish, both spoken and written, is required. Intermediate Portuguese.

Collaboration First Hybrid Work Arrangements:

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office at least three days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs.
