We are seeking a skilled General Accountant to join our client in Port Moresby. This is a full-time contract position with the opportunity for growth and development within the company.

Role Overview

Ensure compliance with legal and contractual accounting standards. Manage monthly general accounting activities, including reconciliation of ledgers and bank accounts, proposing journal entries, and monthly closing for reporting. Collaborate with team to ensure timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounts closing processes and reporting. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in SAP. Assist with statutory and group audits. Liaise with stakeholders to obtain necessary information for vendor creations. Prepare and lodge tax forms and filings on a monthly basis. Stay up-to-date with new accounting standards and processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Degree in Accounting or equivalent. CPA level with minimum of 5 years' experience. Management/Supervisory experience Strong knowledge of Financial Reporting & Analysis (FR&A) and Accounting Interfaces. Proficient in SAP and Excel. Familiarity with IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in an international environment.
