Who We Are
Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation-inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.
To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.
What You'll Do
BCG’s purpose is to “Unlock the Potential of Those Who Advance the World”. At BCG U, we
contribute to that unlock through next generation, large-scale upskilling solutions that build an
organization’s capability to transform in a transforming world. Our focus is on ensuring leaders and
teams at every level have the knowledge and skills they need to play their pivotal role in realizing
value and impact.
At BCG U, we are transforming how upskilling programs are designed, delivered, and scaled — in
many cases powered by GenAI and intelligent systems. As a GenAI Workflow Engineer, you will play
a pivotal role in advancing BCG U's technology stack, designing and deploying AI-first tools and
agentic workflows that increase efficiency, reduce time-to-launch, and create highly personalized
learning experiences. This role is deeply hands-on, embedding GenAI systems throughout the
content design, development, and delivery lifecycle of our global upskilling programs.
You will work closely with internal teams such as Product, Tech, Learning Design, and Program
Delivery to create LLM-powered tools and integrations that support both internal users (e.g., faculty,
learning designers, program managers) and external learners. You’ll build and maintain prompt
chains, connect APIs, evaluate LLM outputs, and implement guardrails that ensure the workflows
are safe, accurate, and reliable.
Your work will directly contribute to how BCG U scales learning impact across industries and
geographies, and how we continue to evolve the future of AI-powered upskilling.
What You'll Bring
4-6 years of experience in technology, software engineering or data science/MLStrong technical skills in LLMs, prompt engineering, API orchestration, and AI workflow automation.Experience developing and maintaining custom GPT agents or GenAI assistants.Demonstrated fluency in building GenAI products at scale and leveraging GenAI technologies, APIs, building and developing custom agents and agentic workflows.Strong interest in and/or past direct experience building workflow automation (e.g., VBA-based tools)Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering, API integration, and debugging GenAI behaviorsFamiliarity with adult learning, edtech tools, or instructional content systems (e.g., LMS, LXP) is a plus.Experience evaluating AI models and implementing guardrails to ensure output quality.A builder’s mindset: eager to experiment, iterate, and scale systems that enable others.Excellent collaboration and communication skills — capable of moving seamlessly between code, UX, and user needs.Who You'll Work With
You’ll be a core part of BCG U’s Platform and Solutions team, working closely with Learning Designers, Program
Managers, Product Leads, Engineers, and Faculty. You’ll also contribute to broader innovation initiatives and pilots
across the Knowledge and Digital Product Organizations — playing a key role in scaling how BCG delivers next-
generation upskilling to clients and teams.
Additional info
You are good at
Building AI-Enabled Systems: Developing agents and agentic workflows to stitch together tools, manual processes, APIs, and workflows across the BCG U ecosystem of content design, development and delivery of our global upskilling programs. You will continue to fine-tune large language models (LLMs) to meet specific GenAI business outcomes.Accelerating Content Creation: Automating and enhancing how BCG U teams create modules, simulations, assessments, and supporting materials — using GenAI tools to dramatically reduce time-to-launch.Enhancing Delivery Workflows: Improving how programs are deployed through tools like developing custom GPTs, agents, agentic workflows, intelligent nudging, auto-generated learner comms, workflow integrations (e.g., LMS, analytics), and dynamic personalization. Share expertise and perspectives on alternate approaches & tools to improve end solutionDesigning Safe, Measurable AI Workflows: Implementing telemetry, evaluation loops, and other quality assurance methods to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and impact of GenAI outputs.Collaborating Across Roles: Acting as a connector between technical, design, and delivery teams — understanding their needs and building workflows that enable their success. Collaborate closely with data engineers, LLM engineers, Full stack AI engineers, QA, product owners and analysts to create and operationalize data & AI pipelines, ensuring compliance with data governance and security requirements.Boston Consulting Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
