Summary: Seeking a Gear Hobber & Shaper to set up, operate, and maintain precision gear cutting machines with expertise in aerospace and defense materials.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in gear hobbing and shaping machining
Strong understanding of gear geometry, gear cutting processes, and machine operation principles
Experience with materials such as stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and aluminum
Proficient in reading blueprints, GD&T, and inspection reports
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or MIL-SPEC manufacturing standards
Ability to use a wide range of precision measuring instruments and gear inspection tools
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Pfauter, Gleason, Barber-Colman, or Fellows gear machines
CNC gear cutting or shaping experience
Knowledge of gear inspection software and CMM operation
Prior experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments
Job Responsibilities:
Set up and operate gear hobbing and shaping machines per engineering drawings and specifications
Interpret blueprints, gear charts, and process sheets for machine settings and machining sequences
Perform machine setups including selecting tooling, cutters, feeds, and speeds
Inspect gears using micrometers, calipers, gear inspection equipment to ensure compliance with specifications
Monitor machining operations for dimensional accuracy and surface finish adjustments
Conduct preventive maintenance on machines to ensure operational reliability
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to meet delivery and quality targets
Maintain clean work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
Pay Details: $24.00 to $34.00 per hour
