The Americas Financing Group within Global Banking & Markets is looking for an Associate to join the Structured Finance – Structured Credit Solutions (“SCS”) team in New York. SCS is a diverse and global business that brings together broad capabilities across financing, underwriting, capital raising, risk management and advisory to provide holistic solutions to our clients. The group works closely with classic investment banking, trading and other product groups to originate and execute structured finance transactions.

The SCS team is a market-leading and differentiated franchise focused on pioneering creative and novel structured solutions for corporate clients across sectors, including TMT, Industrials, Natural Resources etc. Working with the SCS team means the opportunity to be involved with some of the most consequential and strategic financings for major corporates – recent deals range from structured equity joint ventures (including for leading semiconductor manufacturers), airline loyalty-backed financings and spectrum-backed financings to pre-IPO structured holdco financings and cross-border asset-backed LBO financings, amongst others. We have a multi-sector, multi-product focus that is constantly evolving based on key themes and trends that impact our corporate clients. In addition to recently executed transactions, our current focus areas include solutions spanning hybrid capital, non-traditional project finance, bespoke future flow financings, tax credit monetization, and special situations financings. Through a cross-divisional effort with our markets-facing division, the team offers both best-efforts and principal executions for clients in developed and emerging markets. The team employs a OneGS approach to collaborate with our colleagues in offices in the broader Latin American and EMEA regions to source the most effective financing solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities

The Vice President role in SCFG combines many of the features of classic investment banking, principal investing and sales and trading. Vice Presidents play an important role in developing and strengthening our client relationships, leading our financing teams, and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Vice Presidents in SCFG are an integral member of nimble, dynamic teams and will be actively involved in managing transaction processes, leading junior analysts/associates, reviewing models and analyses, and working across different coverage teams on a variety of projects simultaneously.  Vice Presidents have opportunities (and an expectation) to engage with clients, get exposure to GS leadership and develop significant product knowledge while building a broad skill set in a short period of time.

 

Desired Qualifications 

Master’s Degree and 4+ years; OR Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of Investment Banking, Structured Finance, Securitization, ABS, or Asset Backed Finance experience essentialExperience of working on complex, structured transactionsAbility to form independent judgments and move transactions forward2+ years’ experience in leading deal teams of analysts and associatesExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong quantitative and technical abilitiesPersonal integrity, initiative and leadership qualitiesCapacity to interact and build relationships with a wide range of people and act as a point of contactDrive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skillsStrong oral and written communications skillsAbility to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy

 

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$300000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
