The opportunity
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Gas Supervisor will oversee and manage delivery of capital gas projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong practical understanding of the gas industry and proven experience managing both internal crews and subcontractor teams.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Adelaide working on a Monday-to-Friday roster. A vehicle will be provided for work purposes.
About the role
Responsible for overseeing and supervising field and contract personal engaged in the delivery of capital gas projects
Undertake various aspects of planning, scheduling and issuing of relevant construction work to field crews and subcontractors
Responsible for overseeing the performance of both employees and subcontractors to ensure the Downer, client and regulatory policies and procedures are maintained, followed, and always complied with
Provide support to the Project/ Site Manager on all information about site requirements, crew availability, and day to day operations ensuring that it is as cost efficient as possible
About you
Certificate III or IV in Gas Supply Industry Operations, Utilities, or equivalent field (highly regarded)
Relevant trade background in gas, plumbing, or civil construction (desirable)
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in gas distribution or utility planning, preferably within domestic or metropolitan networks in South Australia.
White Card – Construction Induction (mandatory)
SA Gas Distribution Network Induction (or willingness to obtain)
Current Driver’s Licence (mandatory)
Training in pipeline safety, confined space, or live gas environments (desirable)
Competency in the use of work management systems (e.g. SAP, Maximo) and Microsoft Office suite
