FX SPOT Trader, VP/Director
The FX SPOT Trader is a senior level position responsible for overseeing a trading book and managing book risk, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the trader delivers on budgeted revenues, and to coordinate with key stakeholders to develop the trading franchise. We are looking for a multi-faceted and highly resourceful individual who is adept at strategic risk-taking, a proactive thought provider, and can make a significant impact on our portfolio. **Responsibilities:** + Oversee a trading book as a Senior trader, generate revenues and manage risk for the FX SPOT business. + Build & maintain a franchise and connect with key clients. + Coordinate with Sales, Research, and other organizations across Markets & Securities Services and the broader business. + Trade a book and deliver on budgeted revenues all while managing book risk, directly impacting the overall portfolio performance. + Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver market share to the desk. + Anticipate client demand in each respective product/market and facilitate large client trades. + Coordinate with desk analysts as needed and partner strongly with Sales, Traders, and other team members to develop the franchise and manage and mentor junior traders as needed, inspiring others to achieve their full potential. + Leading strong governance and controls: + Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure. + Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics. + Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation. + Be familiar with and adhere to Citi's Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services. + Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you. + Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe. **Qualifications:** + 8+ years of experience minimum in a related role for VP level consideration; 12+ years of experience minimum in a related role for Director level consideration + In-depth knowledge of respective products and clients. + Proven history of successful trading book management while evaluating risk. + Voice trading experience a plus. + Clear and concise written and verbal communication. + Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships with Sales Traders and the broader team. + Ability to analyze & pitch situations and determine suitable counterparties. + Knowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities. + Required licensing and registrations as applicable. **Education:** + Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience. + Master's degree preferred.
