Role Title: FX Banknote Dealer

Reports to: Trading Director – Canada

Location: Toronto, Canada

Business unit: Sales

Role Purpose:

The FX Banknote Dealer will support the Trading Director in managing wholesale FX customer relationships and executing end-to-end deal management. This includes capturing and pricing multi-currency orders, coordinating with treasury for hedging, and ensuring inventory availability to fulfill customer demand. The role is critical to maintaining operational accuracy, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of experience in banknote operations and contribute to refining SOPs related to dealing and Travelex’s internal systems, tailored to Canadian market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the secondary point of contact for wholesale FX customers, supporting deal execution, pricing, and relationship management.

Capture and confirm customer orders, ensuring accuracy in currency, volume, and delivery timelines.

Coordinate with the treasury team to hedge FX exposures and ensure competitive pricing.

Monitor inventory levels across currencies and work with the Cash Processing Manager to confirm fulfillment capability.

Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and processed using Travelex’s internal systems.

Collaborate with the Trading Director to refine and localize SOPs for dealing and system operations, ensuring alignment with Canadian regulatory requirements.

Coordinate customer pickups and deliveries, ensuring clear communication and timely execution.

Maintain detailed records of trades, customer interactions, and inventory movements for audit and compliance purposes.

Identify and escalate operational risks or inefficiencies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure all activities comply with AML, KYC, and other relevant regulatory standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in banknote operations, FX trading, or financial services.

Strong understanding of foreign currency markets, hedging, and wholesale cash logistics.

Experience working with inventory and trading systems; familiarity with Travelex platforms is an asset.

Knowledge of AML, KYC, and regulatory compliance in financial operations.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong coordination and customer service skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy in multi-currency transactions.

Solid understanding of FX pricing and treasury interaction.

Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Process-oriented mindset with experience in SOP development or refinement.
