Job Title: Fundraising Coordinator
Job Description
The Fundraising Coordinator builds and maintains strong relationships to expand the organization’s funding base and ensure sustainable financial growth. This role cultivates and engages individual, corporate, and foundation donors, executes fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals, and partners with leadership to develop long-range fundraising plans. The Fundraising Coordinator supports events and campaigns, manages donor communications and recognition, and leverages data and marketing tools to drive effective, relationship-based fundraising.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors to expand the organization’s funding base.Cultivate and engage donors through regular communication, personalized outreach, and meaningful stewardship activities.Execute fundraising strategies that align with organizational goals and support both short-term and long-range development plans.Partner with organizational leadership to develop and refine long-range fundraising plans that support strategic priorities.Solicit gifts and contributions from a variety of funding sources, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and community partners.Coordinate and support fundraising events and initiatives, ensuring effective planning, promotion, and follow-up.Develop and implement development and marketing plans that promote fundraising campaigns and initiatives.Contribute to long-term departmental and organizational goals by aligning fundraising activities with broader strategic objectives.Maintain adherence to fundraising calendars and campaign schedules to ensure timely execution of initiatives.Identify and research new funding opportunities and donor prospects to diversify and grow the funding base.Cultivate prospective donors in collaboration with leadership and team members to maximize engagement and giving potential.Identify and pursue grant opportunities that align with organizational needs and program priorities.Develop partnerships, including corporate grants and sponsorships, that support financial growth and expand the organization’s reach.Maintain strong, positive relationships with donors through consistent, professional, and responsive communication.Develop strategies for corporate partnerships, including sponsorship packages and collaborative initiatives.Ensure consistent communication to keep donors engaged and informed about the organization’s impact and priorities.Track and record donations accurately using donor database systems to maintain complete and reliable records.Ensure timely donor acknowledgements and coordinate donor recognition efforts to reinforce engagement and loyalty.Monitor and analyze progress toward fundraising goals, using data to evaluate performance and inform strategy.Prepare reports that support data-driven decision-making for leadership and the development team.Support website, social media, and marketing efforts related to fundraising, campaigns, and donor engagement.Develop and maintain promotional materials, including presentations, brochures, and event displays, to support fundraising activities.Network within the community to identify new fundraising opportunities and build visibility for the organization.Represent the organization professionally at events and public functions to promote its mission and cultivate relationships.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree required.10+ years of experience in sales, fundraising, or relationship management preferred, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.Experience in nonprofit fundraising or development strongly preferred.Proven ability to meet or exceed fundraising, sales, or relationship management targets.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent presentation and facilitation abilities, including the ability to speak confidently at events and meetings.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience using donor database systems for tracking, reporting, and analysis.Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and fundraising calendars.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to monitor progress toward goals and support data-driven decision-making.Organizational and interpersonal skills that support effective networking and relationship building.Ability to thrive in a relationship-focused, goal-oriented fundraising environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience attending and leveraging networking events to identify prospects and build partnerships.History of proven success in sales or business development with a focus on relationship-based selling.Demonstrated strength as a relationship builder, with a customer- or donor-centric approach.Comfort representing an organization in public settings, including events, presentations, and community functions.Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams on fundraising and marketing initiatives.Capacity to develop creative strategies for corporate partnerships, grants, and sponsorships.Experience supporting or managing marketing collateral such as presentations, brochures, and event displays.Work Environment
