The Pet Valu family of stores includes Pet Valu, Paulmac's Pet Food, Bosley's, Tisol and Total Pet and together we are one of the largest retail operations in North America dedicated to providing families with food and supplies for dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles and small animals.

Job Overview:
As a Store Manager of this Locally Owned and Operated Franchise location, you will work with the store owners to coach and develop our store team to deliver world class service to all customers, also helping Pet Parents find the right nutrition and other solutions for their pets. Ensure that all customer service standards are met by staff and maintain courteous relationships with customers and within the community (e.g. Local Pet Rescues).Manage a team of employees which will include training, day-to-day assignment of tasks, supervision and coaching.Ensure that all staff adheres to the operational standards and procedures set by the Franchise Owners and according to Pet Valu’s corporate brand standards.Cashier and customers salesAssist with the receiving and unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food plus supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.).Administrative duties, including working with the franchisee to help place orders, maintain appropriate and accurate inventory, ensure that store audits and safety audits are completed, complete miscellaneous paperwork.Co-ordinate efforts of store staff to achieve targeted sales results and KPI’s.Perform other duties and tasks as required.What you bring:
Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.Enthusiasm for learning & growth in pet care industry.Possess an outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service and sales skillsAbility to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, which include weekends and evenings.A reliable means of transportation to and from the store.Ability to observe and coach employees to provide feedback around sales techniques and providing excellent customer service.Capacity for understanding inter-team conflicts and escalating to store owners when necessary.Working knowledge of POS systems.The ability to lift 50lbs repetitively.Pet industry experience is an asset.
