Responsibilities:Minimum three (3) yrs. related experience in a leadership roleA post-secondary certificate in Turf Management is preferred Valid Ontario driver’s license Strong communication skills both written and oralExcellent supervisory skills Small power equipment repair skills and past experience with snow removal equipment requiredCommitted to working shifts, weekends, on call and holidays as requiredProven abilities to problem solve, trouble shoot and work with deadlinesSafety boots a mustAbility to work outdoors in all types of weather conditionsRequired to meet the physical demands of the job including weights of up to 23kg, and frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, and bending
Qualifications:Short term planning, organization, implementation of all turf grass maintenance operations Hire, train, direct/supervise the activities of 6-8 seasonal staff membersImplement safety/training programs and monitor seasonal staff job performance Diagnose turf grass insect and disease conditions and implement control measuresAssist with maintenance of irrigation system and new installationsAssist with site projects, winter snow removal, and off-season vehicle overhaulsMaintain clean shop area and related tools and equipment
$42 / hour
This is a year-round, full-time career opportunity with benefits in the Canada's Wonderland Turf Maintenance Department.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The ideal candidate will have experience with turf grass maintenance coupled with proven skills operating related power equipment. This person is able to supervise and direct seasonal staff and assist with the planning and execution of site improvements.

A “hands-on” foreperson who is responsible to maintain the grounds and effectively hire, train and direct the seasonal turf maintenance technicians.
