Objective To skillfully prepare and cook meats, vegetables, and a variety of other food in large volumes on a timely schedule. Required Quals Summary Special Notes To Applicants Please list all Food Service Experience. List All experience you have had as a cook.

This is a 12 month position.

Hours are Saturday – Wednesday.
10-6 Saturday and Sunday, 6-2:30 Monday thru Wednesday

This is a 12 month, benefits-eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full-time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Principal Accountabilities Prepares, seasons, and cooks meats, vegetables, soups, and a variety of other foods.

Washes and sanitizes utensils, cooking equipment, and kitchen areas.

Checks foods for correct serving temperatures.

Operates standard cooking equipment including mixing machines, steam cookers, grills, food choppers, food slicers, baking ovens, fryers, and stoves.

Reads and interprets production sheets, standardized recipes, and other written instructions.

Washes, peels, and cuts vegetables.

Establishes and exercises reasonable diligence to secure Blinn College property within this area of responsibility.

Work in and assist other areas within food service when needed.

Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Competencies

Minimum Competencies Ability to understand and perform oral instructions.

Ability to perform physically demanding activities including walking, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors.

Ability to learn or knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service.

Ability to learn routine methods and practices of food preparation and service.
