Charles Schwab’s Software Applications Engineers thrive in a leading-edge work culture while developing products that help Schwab customers learn, explore and make life-impacting moves on their paths to achieving their goals.  We are looking for a Software Applications Engineer to work on web development for the client-facing account open application. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong problem solving skills who can contribute in a highly collaborative culture and Agile team environment. The ability to deliver innovative, low cost, reliable solutions is key to success in this role. Our Software Applications Engineers are driven to learn, grow, and continuously contribute to evolving the Schwab experience and technology. 

 

What you’ll do:

Analyze, design, program, debug, configure and modify software systems and/or new products used in local, cloud, networke, mobile or Internet-related technology; code may be used in commercial and/or end-user applicationsUse programming languages and technologies to write code, perform testing, log, and debug applications, all with the goal of achieving Maintainability, Availability, Scalability, and SecurityPursue strong engineering practices through a culture of continuous improvementComplete documentation for tech specsInteract with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modificationsFollow the principles of agile and focus on incremental deliveryMay lead cooperative efforts among members of project teams Act as a mentor to junior staff membersActively participate in product and technology focused social and learning events What you have

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field OR related practical experience4+ years’ professional experience in software developmentAbility to fully support all development phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)Excellent oral and written communication skillsProficiency in web based development languages including HTML, CSS, Javascript, Typescript, jQuery, .NET/C#Experience in applying client side MVC frameworks such as backbone.js and Angular (v6.0 and above)Experience with Web API and RESTful servicesExperience translating requirements into a design and design implementationExperience with all aspects of testing (unit, functional, integration, end-to-end)Production implementation and support

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile and being a part of a scrum teamExperience tuning and maximizing performance for high volume pagesUnderstanding of patterns and practiceAbility to contribute to application and platform architecture and design

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
