Fuel Systems Designer/Engineer

GPI is seeking a highly motivated fuel systems designer/engineer to join our growing East Coast operations in our Salem, NH office. You will be responsible for working with our fuel systems group to prepare design plans and specifications related to projects located in various municipalities and states. Projects include underground and aboveground fuel tank systems throughout the East Coast for multiple petroleum clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the work they perform and a strong desire to succeed.

Responsibilities:

Engineering design and technical activities related to underground and aboveground fuel storage tank and dispensing systemsPreparation of plans, details, and equipment schedules for construction/bid purposesCoordination with various local and state agencies for permit application submittalsPerform various design tasks related to site plans, fuel system layouts, and grading plans for retail motor fuel developmentsPerform inspectional services at various stages of construction including tank installation, pre-backfill, and prior to final system operationCoordination with petroleum equipment vendors and 3rd party engineering consultantsPotential short-term travel outside of New England for site inspectionsReview and research applicable fuel system codes and regulations related to the authority having jurisdictionAssist team with the successful completion of projects within established budgets and deadlines

Qualifications:

Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong time management, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to understand project schedules, design budgets, and work efficiently within project guidelinesExperience with permit applications to local municipalities and state agencies is a plusExperience with field work and site observation services is a plusExperience with fuel system engineering and/or inspections is a plus
