ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Provide high-quality customer service in accordance with Safeway’s customer service standards and policies and
procedures.
• Has limited responsibility for the scheduling and assignment of duties for other attendants.
• Access to a reliable vehicle to perform competitor Price Surveys (2-twice a day).
• Ability to provide proof of insurance based on division requirements.
• Responsible for day-to-day operations, ordering, training, supervising employees, profits, all controllable expenses,
inventory, cash, and shortages.
• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customers
interactions.
• Responsible for ringing up all merchandise. Receives payment for customer purchases. Properly maintains cash
drawer, is accountable for all cash, coupons, checks, and receipts in the drawer.
• Receives and checks in delivered merchandise and places in appropriate storage area.
• Fills displays and stocks shelves as needed.
• Fills outside towel holders and replenishes or refreshes window washer fluid.
• Service, clean and supply public restrooms, refill towel dispenser & soap dispensers.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors with cleaning agents.
• Gather and empty trash; clean & scrub trash cans and replace with liners.
• May clean building floor by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming around equipment.
• Adheres to all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming policy as defined within company policy.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with
performing the essential job functions of this position: **
• Valid State Driver’s license required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills including building internal and external relationships and conflict resolution skills
• Travel: Zero to 25%
• Ability to follow company customer service procedures
• Demonstrated customer service skills or related experience
• Ability to use the cash register
• Basic math skills to calculate prices and make change
• Subject to extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wind, rain)
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to understand and follow instructions, and ability to read, retain and comprehend guidelines, policies and
procedures applicable to the position
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as within a large team
• Self-motivated and driven to increase knowledge of Safeway products and share that knowledge with Safeway
customers
• Ability to provide regular and predictable attendance. (Safeway employees may be scheduled to work early
mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, and schedules may vary on a weekly basis)
• Ability to comply with workplace conduct standards

Job duties and responsibilities may vary by location and employees may be assigned duties and responsibilities in addition
to those listed above.
Pay Rate: $16.50 - $24.50
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
