Summary This job opportunity is for an FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATOR, position description D2426000, within the 108th LRS of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The purpose of this position is to serve as shop chief over a small organizational segment in a maintenance function with responsibility for the overall shop operation. Responsibilities As an FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATOR, WG-5413-10, you will: Plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded worker(s). Determine approached, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures. Estimate time, equipment and material requirements. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Ensure that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Conditions of Employment Areas of Consideration: CAT 3 All New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Drill-Status Guardsmen) Military Grades: MIN: SrA / E-4 to MAX: MSgt / E-7 Additional Requirements: Participation in direct deposit is mandatory May be required to successfully complete a probationary period Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a *military unit* compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. *Military Unit* -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates ability to: Organize assignments for subordinates Estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs Explain manuals and work procedures Prepare production records, work records and reports Specialized Experience: Experience or training working in activities such as large fuel depots or fuel farms with complex, interconnecting line and pipe arrangements, and frequent requirements for large scale movement and transfer of a variety of liquid fuels.
