What is needed for this job:
Bachelor’s degree in related field
21+ years of age
2+ years of experience with current ARC Lifeguard/Water Park, CPR for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Administering Emergency Oxygen and YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification with 2 years of related experience
2+ years experience in fitness, recreation management, or similar
2+ years experience managing 50+ team members
2+ years experience managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and budgets
Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns
Ability to use water chemistry test kit
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
Provide leadership in the delivery of quality within the YMCA aquatic department
Monitor all programs and staff in the pool assigned
Ensure program quality and monitor staff performance and member service
Ensure the swimming facility is meeting or exceeding the Aquatic Safety Standards
Facilitate monthly in-service meetings that include skill review
Supervise staff and ensure appropriate staffing of pool
Develop high quality aquatics programs, including swim lessons and water fitness that meet the needs of the community
Ensure quality program delivery by certified staff and effective use of resources including staffing
Ensure safety and prevent injuries by supervising pool area
Administer first aid to victims using OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Universal Precautions until Emergency Medical Service arrives
Maintain current certifications and physical fitness
Communicate all pool rules and ensure that you are accessible and identifiable
Maintain pool logs, incident/accident reports, locker room checks and other documents as required
Perform pool maintenance duties in accordance with OSHA Hazardous Materials Precautions. Perform water quality testing
May be required to pursue POOL Operator or CPO certification and backwash pool filtration system and monitor pool chemicals
May be required to pursue PA Department of Agriculture Category 24 Pesticide Applicator or Technician certification
