The Food Safety and Quality Specialist will oversee food safety, quality assurance and regulatory related risks along the supply chain and define practicable solutions to minimize potential losses. This role requires to develop and maintain versatile commodity risk assessments and proactively assess risks of noncompliance and ensure risks are understood and controlled along the supply chain by delivering targeted operational efficiency and compliance.
Key AccountabilitiesAnalyze, review, and implement food safety and quality policies, procedures, regulations and customer & supplier standardsPlanning and monitoring commodities quality, food safety and compliance in co-ordination with Commercial and SC teamDevelop and execute quality assurance program and standards for procurement & storage of commodities – Grain, Oil Seed/Meal & Veg Oil as defined by Cargill internal standardsCollaborate with cross functional team to understand market and establish Standard Practices for efficient end to end commodity management & agile processReview storage standards of commodity through comprehensive warehouse audits and share findings on critical observations. Identify RCA and Implement CAPAEstablish sampling procedures, lab testing methodologies to ensure purchased crops meet specifications and oversee QA OperationsInvestigate and resolve non-conformances, customer complaints, and other quality issues. Reduce Quality loss & ShrinkageActively participate in Crop Survey and gain insights on Crop Production and Quality across the region & define storage plan.Ensure non-conforming elements are identified proactively and mitigation measures are taken timely.Lead RCA and CAPA for deviations/complaints together with cross functional team. Escalate impactful non-conformities.Initiate continuous improvement measures to enhance standards and add value by implementing Commodity management best practices. Continuously monitor, measure, review and report on efficacy of control measures.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in science - preferably Agri-Science or equivalent experienceExtensive experience in Agri Commodity Industry managing Grains and Oil Seeds Quality assurance program. Professional Experience of 8+ YearsGood Knowledge of Global FSQR Standards and PracticesGood at Analytical and Problem-Solving SkillComputer skills and knowledge of common software packages.Customer focused and achievement focused.Other minimum qualifications may applyPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Agri Science or Agri Technology
