Job Title: QA Technician

Job Description

As an QA Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards across all facility operations. This role requires professionalism, integrity, and bilingual communication skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre- and post-operational inspections and daily monitoring of the Repack Room, Warehouses, and general facility areas.Perform routine testing and verification of Critical Control Points (CCPs), product temperature and weight, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), label accuracy, and allergen controls.Oversee sanitation procedures during product changeovers and at shift start/end.Follow departmental protocols for identifying and managing QA and Food Safety holds.Take immediate corrective action when deviations from standards are identified.Collect and prepare samples for microbiological testing such as APC, Total Coliforms, Yeast, and Mold.Perform inbound micro testing, enumerate results, and generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as needed.Identify and report equipment, tools, or employee practices that may compromise food or employee safety.Conduct scheduled product weight and temperature checks.Perform and document Metal Detector verification checks; report deviations and initiate corrective actions.Assist QA Manager with training initiatives and specialized testing (ATP, Environmental, Allergen).Maintain accurate documentation and records with attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.Monitor product quality and immediately stop packing and notify the FSQA Manager of any potential quality concerns.Oversee Line Inspectors to ensure proper screening for and removal of extraneous materials and/or defective products.Monitor the amount of product in the Repack Room to ensure product integrity.Monitor packing activities to ensure proper product flow, print quality and accuracy, and integrity of the bag seal.

Essential Skills

Proficient in reading, comprehending, and documenting technical information.Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Experience in food safety, sanitation, or quality assurance preferred.1-2 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with production, general labor, and sanitation.Exposure to a distribution center for frozen fruits and vegetables.Bilingual communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elizabethtown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
