FSQA Field Specialist

OVERVIEW

Conduct food safety and quality assessments at assigned store locations and communicate results to store employees, district managers, regional managers, and other corporate managers.


RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

Complete comprehensive FSQA assessments in assigned stores and communicate reports to designated personnel.Maintain consistent food safety standards and an objective scoring approach across all stores.Coach and Train store employees on food safety standards and recommend processes to implement changes as needed.Maintain comprehensive understanding of store level programs & procedures, and coach store employees on how they pertain to the food safety standards.Follow up on corrective actions and preventative actions, state inspections, product quality alerts/recalls, and customer complaints on a weekly basis.Assist store during water emergencies, power outages, fires, and other emergency situations to ensure that we maintain the highest level of food safety standards.Provide support to the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Department as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)


Education (CP-FS Eligibility Requirements):


To be eligible for the CP-FS credential exam, a candidate must meet the criteria for A or B as follows:


A. Degree Track: You are eligible for the credential if you have:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in food science or environmental health from a degree program accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council. To find out if your degree program has been accredited by EHAC, please visit their website at:www.nehspac.org OR
2. a bachelor’s degree with at least two (2) years’ experience in food protection; OR
3. a bachelor’s degree and possession of the NEHA REHS/RS credential


B. Experience Track: You are eligible for the credential if you have:
1. an associate degree and four (4) years of progressive experience in food-related work, and successful passage of the Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM), Food Safety Managers Certification Examination (FSMCE), Safe Mark Exam, or ServSafe exam; OR


2. a High School Diploma or GED and five (5) years of progressive experience in food-related work, and successful passage of the Certified Professional Food Manager (CPFM), Food Safety Managers Certification Examination (FSMCE), Safe Mark Exam, or ServSafe exam


Experience
• Minimum 2 years in a Sheetz Store Operations role or equivalent required.
• Previous Sheetz Management Level Position or Equivalent preferred.

 

Required Licenses/Certifications; (Must complete certifications successfully within 6 months of hire to maintain position)
• Certified Professional of Food Safety Certification (CP-FS)
• Food Safety Manager Certification 
• Valid Driver’s License

 

Tools & Equipment 

• General Office Equipment
• Hand tools (hammer, measuring devices, wrench, level, etc.)
