We are the only professional services organization who has a separate service line dedicated exclusively to the financial services marketplace. Join our Financial Services Organization (FSO) and you will work with multi-disciplinary teams from around the world to provide a global perspective. Aligned to key industry groups including banking and capital markets, asset management and insurance, we provide highly integrated consulting, strategy and transactions, assurance and tax services.
As a member of our Financial Services Consulting practice, you'll be a key advisor to our clients, helping them navigate the complexities of the capital markets and asset management landscape. You'll lead engagement teams in delivering high-impact solutions across strategy, operations, and technology, working with leading banks, securities firms, and asset managers.
Your key responsibilities
Target Operating Model (TOM) Engagements: Design and implement future-state operating models for capital markets and asset management firms, optimizing front, middle, and back-office processes for efficiency and effectiveness. This includes detailed process mapping, gap analysis, and recommendations for organizational structure and technology enhancements. Driving Industry Transformation: Leverage deep knowledge of industry competitiveness and market trends to advise clients on strategic initiatives. Conduct market scanning and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and innovation within the capital markets and asset management sectors. Overseeing Systems Implementation Projects: Guide clients through the full lifecycle of system implementations, from vendor selection and requirements gathering to testing, deployment, and post-implementation support. This includes ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and processes. Managing Complex Change Initiatives: Develop and execute comprehensive change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and organizational structures. This involves stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and training development. Performing In-depth Business Analysis: Conduct detailed business analysis to identify client pain points, define business requirements, and propose data-driven solutions. Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable recommendations and functional specifications. Providing Capital Markets & Asset Management Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert on end-to-end processes within capital markets (front office, middle office, back office) and asset management (front office, middle office, back office). Developing Asset Management Strategies: Support clients in developing and refining their asset management strategies, encompassing various investment vehicles such as mutual funds, private equity, private credit, hedge funds, and real estate. Cultivating Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with executive-level clients, understanding their strategic objectives and becoming a trusted advisor. Leading and Mentoring Teams: Manage engagement teams, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Contributing to Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, contribute to proposal development, and support thought leadership initiatives within the Financial Services practice.
To qualify for the role you must have
Educational Background: A university degree in accounting, information systems, business, or a legal-related subject. Continuous Learning Mindset: A proactive approach to learning new knowledge and a demonstrated ability to stay abreast of industry developments and emerging trends within capital markets and asset management. Influential Communication: The confidence and ability to present new ideas, articulate complex concepts clearly, and effectively influence stakeholders and peers at all levels. Extensive Industry Experience: Solid work experience gained within reputable organizations such as banks, securities firms, asset managers, regulatory bodies, or international accounting/consulting firms. This experience must include in-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, process redesign, and risk management within the capital markets and asset management space. Bilingual Proficiency: Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese is essential for interacting with our diverse client base and internal teams. Executive Presence: The ability to confidently and effectively interact with executive levels of clients, regulators, and EY management, building rapport and trust. Exceptional Report Writing and Presentation Skills: Strong report-writing skills are crucial, with the ability to create and organize varying forms of business information while developing it into clear, meaningful, and professional reports and presentations that resonate with executive audiences.
